wHAT IS INCLUSIVITY MATTERS?

Hi there! Thanks for checking us out. Just the fact that you have clicked on our pull-down tab means you are curious about us and we're glad to hear that. We hope the information you find here will be helpful in understanding what we're all about.

Inclusivity Matters is a group of allies whose main focus is to advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community and to promote inclusion, especially within our church.

We work to accomplish our goal through education, outreach, and advocacy. Our group is open to anyone who is interested. Our meetings are held once a month on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. Due to COVID concerns, we sometimes meet via Zoom. Information and meeting updates are posted under the "things to know" tab.

If you would like to speak with a live person about our group, or for more information, contact Katie Roam: kroam@firststcharlesumc.org

Our local group at First Church is part of the larger Missouri Reconciling United Methodists, Inc., a grassroots organization of United Methodists throughout the state of Missouri who are dedicated to support education and mobilization around the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ persons in our denomination.

The statement below, adopted by our group when it was formed, really says it all.

"We, the Inclusivity Matters Community of First St. Charles

United Methodist Church, join the witness of United

Methodists who welcome, affirm, and celebrate people

of all sexual orientations and gender identities into the

                  full life of the church."
