In 1821, First St. Charles UMC was founded on historic Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri. Two-hundred years later, we are thrilled to celebrate the bicentennial of our community of faith with you! We'll host several bicentennial celebrations this year and share more about our church's history along the way.
200 TREES FAMILY CELEBRATION
3:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Bring your family out to walk through our festive church decorated with 200 festive trees both inside and outside. Bring the kiddos to come see Santa in the MPR! Each child receives a small gift bag and will have the opportunity to make a craft to take home. Refreshments will be available in Wesley Hall.
We are grateful for the time, effort, and dedication that local historian - Valerie Battle Kienzle - has dedicated to researching and recording the history of First St. Charles UMC. Valerie has put together an extensive history book that begins with the founding of the church through present day. You can download the full 136 page book with the link below.
If you would like to receive a printed version, please contact the church office. One printed copy is available per family.
In this interview, Valerie Kienzle shares more about the history of First St. Charles UMC and the church's past. In order to further the conversation about our church's past, you're invited to join us for worship on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Pastor Bart Hildreth will begin a new message series: "Outside the Lines." You're invited to come to worship with open ears, open hearts, and open minds as we learn from our past and look FORWARD TOGETHER to our future.
